Every so often we put on a cultural night, however we quite frequently do socials that involves food and dance. That being said for those who are interested in learning the salsa fundamentals, the above video is a good start. You may practice on your own or with a few friends regardless you will find the above video very helpful.

To say the least this is the video I use and it has helped me tremendously. I practice on my own and sometimes in front of a mirror. I have repeatedly watched this as well as fast forward and rewind. Each to their own pace.

Once you feel comfortable a salsa night is a good social. Further there are many colleges that have their own salsa club, so have fun with it, no excuses.

As you can tell in this video, I am still a beginner, however majority of what I know in salsa is by watching countless videos on Youtube and experimenting with a variety of movements as seen here.

I stumbled on another video, this is when I took a crash course in dance at Glendale Community College. At the time I did not take the class seriously as evident in the video, it was more social than anything else.

I am glad that years later my salsa has improved.

These are some of the workshops we put on when it comes to members participating in our upcoming cultural nights.

If this is something that interests you, do not forget to sign up. I have made many good memories and contacts by participating in upcoming cultural nights such as, "A Night of Cultural Diversity".

You can also as a group look into low key salsa scenes, strongly suggest this for beginners. I personally find this atmosphere much more comfortable.

These are some of the socials we have attended as a group. This one is organized by the CSULB Salsa Club.

Besides them Pasadena City College, USC, Cal State Northridge, and UCLA also put on good events.

It is a good way to make new friends.

Not every salsa social involves salsa dancing as in this situation. These were good moments. Personally I prefer dancing salsa to non-salsa music.
