#NextGen Delegate

In regards to this year's upcoming "A Night of Cultural Diversity" I will be the Event Planner, as for event organizers it will be Derrick Gary and Cameron Coe. They will manage all other event coordinators.

As such each performing group will have an event coordinator. Further each performance will have a speaker describing the performance, its impact, and cultural reference. To conclude they will also explain why they chose the piece they performed to better address discrimination and its impact.

In general this event is about raising awareness for the diversity that exists today but yet even more so to beg the question why discrimination still has its negative impact on our society. In my opinion one of the attributes is insecurity, and to be specific that culture of insecurity is created within our school system early on in a child's development.

With this in mind as we move forward with our awareness campaign it will be to raise funds for the following: STUDENTdirect Youth Initiative, ICA Displaced Initiative, and the groups that they support. Our solution to what I described above.

This event will be hosted at Occidental College by Hermanas and the Multi Ethnic Cultural Association somewhere within late September, early October. As for what specific day and time, that needs to be worked out.

In addition the event will be presented by the following: YoungINC.LA, JBM Community, and the STUDENTdirect Charitable Foundation in Partnership with Kiwanis Eagle Rock, Fraternal Order of Eagles Monrovia, Elks Pasadena, Glendale Lions, Hollywood American Legion, and La Crescenta Rotary.

We will secure sponsors as the months progress.

Further what I am proposing is within the guidelines as described in this outline. Please digest as we will coordinate within such parameters.

Once more thank you for your support.

- J.C.
